Well, here we are again. A new platform and a new website. Why? To keep it simple I just wanted to free up some of my time away from managing the website side of things and Shopify has a great platform that handles many of the day-to-day tedious tasks that take up my time. On top of that the integration into things like Instagram and Facebook etc made it appealing. End of the day I am just trying to free up more of my time so I can focus on actually promoting and growing the brand.
For 2024 I am trying to focus on change and growth. Not just with Hui Motor Co but in my personal life as well. I am trying to set myself up with little challenges that would usually make me uncomfortable and trying to overcome them. Like public speaking and/or writing... hence the blog post. I want to try and start involving people more in the day-to-day side of my life. To be a little more open and share a bit more often. Let you all in on the man behind the brand if that makes sense. Because yes, this is a one-man show currently. I handle everything from product design to web design and customer service. It's all me. So why not let you all get to know me? Right?
As far as the brand goes, this year I am trying to simplify a little bit. Focus on a few key products to start and let the brand grow organically through word of mouth and basic advertising. I'm hoping to get out to a few shows this year and do in-person sales and marketing type stuff. Hopefully meet a few of you out there and get in some rides! Cause that's what motorcycles are about right? Actually getting out and riding. Not just selling merch. With that being said, I did introduce a new leather riding vest to the lineup this year. The DS24 Club Style vest. I took everything I liked about the DS23 last year and made a few modifications. To start I made it 2" shorter so it doesn't ride up when you sit on your bike. I also went with a softer, but still heavy-duty, leather and moved the diamond stitch accent from the belt line to the ribs. Then I went crazy! I made a brown version as well! This was mostly because I wanted it but also because there are a million black riding vests out there. And 2024 is about change! The liners are got an update. Red Hui Motor Co branded liner for the black vests and Yellow Hui Motor Co branded liner for the brown vests. All the other goodies like dual conceal carry pockets, dual sunglass slits, hidden snaps, hidden zipper, etc all are still there.
I am planning on launching a podcast this year that will involve me getting out and filming rides with people and then having little interview style conversations about bikes and riding life. Hui Motor Co will obviously be a sponsor of this podcast ;) If doing some riding and filming sounds fun to you, reach out and let me know you'd be interested. I want to get as many episodes as possible filmed this year.
Other than that, I hope you enjoy the new site and layout and continue to show support for this year. Share the page, follow on all social media accounts @huimotorco and share those too. Best way to grow the brand is by word of mouth from people like yourself.
I look forward to seeing you all out on the road wearing your new Hui Motor Co branded apparel! And if you see me, wave me down and say hi.
